Apps and Devices for Schools

Sharing from the Android Browser

This is a guest post from David Andrade.

One of the nicest features of Android is the integration of Google’s apps and other apps and the  built in sharing options for different apps. Many apps are able to access the operating system and easily share from one app to another.

When in the web browser, you can share the web page through a variety of apps. You can also share Tweets from the Tweetdeck app in a variety of ways. Here are the sharing options I have when using my Android smartphone.

Web browser: Share page via:
Blogger – create a blog post from link
Bluetooth – share to another device
Box – share to your Box account
Decode QR Code on the page (read more about QR Codes here)
Docs – create a doc of the page
Dropbox – share to your Dropbox Account (file share, sync, and backup)
Evernote – Create Note in your Evernote account
Facebook – share on your wall
Gmail – share via Gmail
Goo.gl – shorten URL
Google Tasks Organizer – create a task of URL (this app syncs with Google Tasks)
Google Voice
Google+ – share with your Circles
LinkedIn – share with your connections
Mail – share via email
Messages – send URL via text message
Share as QR Code – create a QR code of URL
Springpad – create a note in your Springpad account
Translate – translate page into another language
TweetDeck – share as a Tweet
WordPress – create a blog post

You can also share from Google Reader and your Photo Gallery to all of these apps and you can share your photos directly to Picasa too. The sharing and app integration in Android is excellent and makes it easy to work with different resources and apps.
