Google Play Books Update Includes a Read Aloud Feature
I really enjoy reading books on my Nexus 7 tablet. The tablet fits in one hand and I never lose my place in the books that I’m reading through Google Play Books. Today, I learned that the latest update to Google Play Books for Android includes a read aloud option.
To activate the read aloud option in Google Play Books just open the menu in the upper-right corner of the screen and select “read aloud.” To stop the read aloud voice just open the menu again and select “stop reading aloud.” The read aloud voice is quite robotic, but it is clear. I wouldn’t want to listen to an entire book through the Google Play Books read aloud feature. That said, if a student was reading a book on Google Play Books and needed help with the pronunciation of a word, the read aloud function could be helpful.
H/T to Android Authority.
