Google Play Books Update Includes a Read Aloud Feature

Share

g play books I really enjoy reading books on my Nexus 7 tablet. The tablet fits in one hand and I never lose my place in the books that I’m reading through Google Play Books. Today, I learned that the latest update to Google Play Books for Android includes a read aloud option.

To activate the read aloud option in Google Play Books just open the menu in the upper-right corner of the screen and select “read aloud.” To stop the read aloud voice just open the menu again and select “stop reading aloud.”┬áThe read aloud voice is quite robotic, but it is clear. I wouldn’t want to listen to an entire book through the Google Play Books read aloud feature. That said, if a student was reading a book on Google Play Books and needed help with the pronunciation of a word, the read aloud function could be helpful.

H/T to Android Authority.
