Add Google Drive Files to Calendar Events on the Google Calendar Android App
Google Calendar in your web browser has long supported attaching Google Drive files to your calendar events. Now you can do the same thing through the Google Calendar for Android app. The latest update to the Google Calendar for Android app supports attaching Google Drive files to your Calendar events. When you attach a Drive file to an event the sharing permissions of the file are carried over to the Calendar event. That means that if you attach a private file to a public event, you will have to change the sharing permissions of the file if you want everyone to be able to access it.
For years I have attached Google Drive files to Google Calendars that I publish for students and their parents to view. Doing that gives students and parents a convenient way to find important documents related to the lesson outlines posted in my calendar events.
Other updates to the app include the option to hide the birthday calendar, support for pinch-to-zoom, and the option to view a seven day week-at-a-glance calendar. Read more about the updates on the Google Apps Updates blog.
