When studying, it is important to properly allocate the most valuable resource – time. It’s hard to keep all the assignments, tests and quizzes in your head. Not only notebooks and diaries, but also planning apps can help you systematize the learning process and organize your time. We have collected a list of the best ones.

MyStudyLife

An application created especially for schoolchildren and students. With its help you can make a schedule of couples, set yourself tasks and reminders. MyStudyLife is completely free and available on iOS, Android and in browsers: plan your week from your laptop and check your schedule from your phone, also in offline mode. For the student, MyStudyLife can completely replace a paper planner.

iStudiez

Another app aimed at high school and college students. Like MyStudyLife, it will show you the schedule of couples and seminars, remind you about the upcoming test. But besides that, iStudiez allows you to keep track of your grades and write down your teachers’ contacts – other apps on this list don’t have such handy features.

Todait

Korean app Todait is suitable for long-term goals, like studying for exams and learning new skills. It’s not just a planner: you can measure how much time is spent on a particular task. Todait also helps you develop a daily study habit, which is convenient because it’s easier to memorize information in small amounts. The app is free and available only on iOS and Android.

AnyDo

AnyDo, like TickTick, is a hybrid planner and calendar. It is suitable for those who like minimalistic design and simple interface. AnyDo AnyDo’s built-in day planner mode helps you keep things on track. Every morning the application shows a list of incoming tasks and suggests you to schedule them for today, tomorrow or another day.

Todoist

Similar in many ways to the previous two apps, but is characterized by advanced features. In Todoist, tasks can be grouped using tags, projects, and subtasks. Todoist also has a built-in “karma” system that adds and removes points for completed and overdue tasks. The resulting schedule additionally motivates you to use this particular planner.

2do

2do has a unique feature of sorting tasks by start and finish, tags, status, priority, title and location. In addition, 2do has smart lists, a handy side menu, tags, and the ability to turn tasks into projects and checklists.

Wunderlist

With Wunderlist you can track your exam preparation, write down homework assignments, make todo-lists and reading lists. You can attach a date to each item on the list and set up notifications. Wunderlist supports teamwork, so you can do common tasks with your classmates.

Trello

This is a mobile and compact version of kanban board. The board in Trello is divided into multiple columns consisting of cards. It is such a simple and flexible system that it can be used in any convenient way: for example, you can create a separate column for each subject and write in it all assignments, tests and quizzes related to that subject. Trello is also suitable for notes: create a new board dedicated to one subject and post lecture and seminar materials on it.

For the modern student, the phone is not only a way to kill time on a pair, but also an effective tool. Planners help to write down all the important things to do and eliminate the need to remember everything. If you learn time management during your student years, it will be much easier to manage things at your future job.

To properly organize your study space and not to get confused in the schedule of attending lectures, seminars or practical classes, we suggest you to get acquainted with the top timetable apps for university students. Below are the student timetable apps that you can install on Android.

My Classes

The application helps to create a convenient schedule with sorting by a certain criterion: for example, the teacher’s name. It is possible to create a schedule for a week, 2 weeks or a whole month in advance. There is a limited number of characters for creating a description – a title and a brief note.

TimeTune

This scheduling app helps to create a class schedule and plan major tasks in order of importance. First, the user should create a template and briefly schedule the upcoming day, week or month using special tags. To expand the functionality of the free version, the developer offers a paid subscription.

Studyfy

The schedule of universities of the famous developer already has a built-in template for holding classes of more than 440 universities in the country, including 35,000 groups in different educational areas. To save traffic, just download the actual schedule from the offered package.

What the app offers:

  • The ability to number academic weeks;
  • Built-in calendar;
  • Cards of details of classes, their labeling;
  • Weekly display of the timetable, making actual changes to the already downloaded template;
  • Adjustment of due date for assignments: you can attach photos.

Microsoft To-Do

A popular task scheduler adapted for Android devices. Here you can make a schedule of classes and sort other things that should be done in the near future. For easy visualization of data in the right order of priority, you can highlight each task with a special color, attach a file or a necessary note to it. Important moments (for example, pairs on the student’s specialty) can be displayed in the corresponding folder, having previously marked them with an asterisk. To monitor the status of completed tasks, they can be placed in a separate folder.

For convenience, it is desirable to have your own Microsoft account. The ability to synchronize between multiple devices or multiple Microsoft accounts is available, including the joint work of several users. The software is completely free.

Remember The Milk

This scheduling app is multifunctional, so you can easily use it as a task scheduler as well. When creating a schedule, you can add tags, notes on the subject, and if it’s a practical class, you can set a deadline for homework. If pairs are repeated several times during the week, you can manually adjust their execution. Remember The Milk also supports data integration with Google Calendar, Evernote, and Outlook and Gmail email services.

Interesting and useful features of the software:

  • Set reminders by selected prioritization mode;
  • Notifications can be sent to email or social messengers;
  • Created tasks can be combined, linked to relevant contacts and confirmed by geolocation;
  • The ability to share class schedules is available.

Most of the useful features are free of charge. If you plan to use the application not only for class schedules but also as a task planner, you can pay for the Pro version at a nominal cost. Here you can create subtasks, theme tags in different colors, and other self-organization tools.

Today, there are apps for almost everything. They can make life easier, cheaper, safer and more fun. If you need help with notes, checking your knowledge, waking up on time or keeping in shape, then read on for our selection of apps for students…

Lecture recording

Just a few years ago, students had to scribble something down in their notebooks all the time, trying not to miss a single bit of useful information. But technology does not stand still, and now applications for saving lectures have become a reality. Yes, speeches of university teachers began to record a long time ago, but modern programs allow you to record and listen to them without spending a penny on expensive additional equipment.

SoundNote (iOS) is a popular among iPad owners application for recording lectures, which works in notepad and voice recorder mode. Thanks to it, the entire lesson can be saved in both audio and video versions. If you need to fix an image on the board, Office Lens allows you to take a picture of it, convert the file to PDF, Word or PowerPoint and send the data to OneNote or OneDrive for further work with them.

In addition to SoundNote, good lecture capture apps include Notes Plus (iOS) and Audio Memos Free – The Voice Recorder (iOS).

Repetition of material

Repetition apps are in huge demand today, and technology seems to have accomplished the impossible: making this activity fun.

If you’re a fan of flashcards, you should check out StudyBlue, an app for students that creates sets of cards using relevant information from your course. You can make reminders for self-checking as well.

Another useful app for repetition is GoConqr. It provides resources for generating test sheets, association cards, flashcards, notes, and questionnaires, as well as interacting and communicating with friends, classmates, or students from around the world. Alternatively, Exam Countdown (iOS) keeps a tally of the days remaining until each of your exams.

Exam preparation

Apps are available today for exams like the MCAT, LSAT, GMAT, and GRE, which are part of the admissions process at many universities. BenchPrep utilizes social media-like functionality that allows users to connect with other applicants and view materials to revisit with questionnaires, notes, and more. You can track your own learning progress in this app as well.

TCY Exam Prep (Android) is another exam preparation app aimed at Indian and American business students. It contains resources for MBA entrance tests, bank exams, CAT, GRE and GATE.

Planners

Organization is key to success and well-being in university, which is why planner apps are becoming increasingly popular. Many planners send reminders and notifications directly to your phone or other device.

Popular planners for students include Timetable (Android), which features a concise and clear interface into which you can easily transfer your timetable. If you’re looking for a more familiar option, check out apps with traditional spreadsheets, say Class Timetable.

Compiling a bibliography

If you’ve ever spent hours creating a lengthy bibliography, you know how much time it takes to make sure all the information you need is in the right place and in the right form. EasyBib is a very useful application for students that can create an academic reference to any book after scanning its barcode. Since bibliography design rules vary depending on where you study, EasyBib suggests using MLA, APA, and Chicago styles. Just scan the barcode or type in the title of the book, and voila, the reference is ready!
